No person can survive without friends.
This applies to Super Librum as well. It is good to know that there are people who would like to be kept up to date about Super Librum's plans and other developments, and who are also willing to help out, in particular by giving financial support.
What does Super Librum need the money for?
For example, to help cover the various expenses involved in securing an invitation to give a concert or to make a CD. Owning the Theophilus-organ in the church in Marsum is a wonderful musical asset for Super Librum, but it does entail significant recurring costs. Making recordings for CDs is also expensive, as is the production of the booklets that accompany every CD. Earnings from concerts, CDs and the like are scarcely sufficient to pay the musicians a reasonable amount, and there is never enough left over to cover these other costs. In short, we really do need your help.
What can our friends expect from us?
Friendship should never be one-sided, and we think those who help us are entitled to something in return. First and foremost, there is the satisfaction of knowing that one has helped to keep early music culture alive in Groningen, in the Netherlands, and in the world. We will also keep you up to date on forthcoming concerts and other activities of Super Librum, and on new CDs. You will be our guests at concerts that we ourselves organize in Groningen and (whenever feasible) elsewhere. If you like you can use the Theophilus-organ from time to time for nothing more than the very modest direct expenses that such use entails. And you can buy any of our CDs from us for what they cost us.
How can you become a Friend of Super Librum and what does it cost?
For € 25,- per year (more is, of course, most welcome!) you can become a Friend of Super Librum. You become a Friend by paying this amount by bank transfer to the account of the Foundation (account number 4430756, in the name of Stichting Ondersteuning Ensemble Super Librum, Regentessestraat 63, Groningen; be sure to indicate that the payment is for "Friend of Super Librum").
